I have just made a wireless network with my laptop computer. It took me a couple of goes before I was successful. Now upon connecting, I get the error message 'A DUPLICATE NAME EXISTS ON THE NETWORK'. I have checked 'My Network Places' and cannot see any duplicates. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this eror message or indeed find the duplicate name. Thank you.
Hi Angus, I read ur Thread. And searched for some help. basically all other people that have had the same problem reinstalled the drivers and re set up the network. My question is if u have set up a home network. is it allowing u to use the net or network on the computer u are joining up to ur existing network? If this is the issue u can enable it by entring ur network key. let us know where ur at??
Hi Borhan, thanx for the reply. Yes I am able to use my laptop wirelessly via my wireless router. I have no problem accessing the internet, it's just the annoying box that appears every now and then stating I have a duplicate name. I was hoping that there may have been a way of deleting the duplicate. If there isn't then I will delete all and reinstall the router/network etc. thanx again.
