I have a computer with no software on it, no XP, nothing except the drives and the BIOS. I'm trying to install windows xp 64 bit edition. But everytime it loads, it leads me to a DR-DOS screen. Whats going on, and whats DR-DOS?
DR DOS = DeviceLogic DOS. It was an alternative to MS DOS back in the day and somehow I doubt that XP is loading it. I have installed XP X64 myself and it installed basically the same as win2k and regular XP. Press any key to boot from CD. Press F6 to load drives for SATA/RAID HDD's. Insert Floppy to load said drivers. Create parition, format, etc. Select where to install. Copy files Reboot Copy more files. Set up locall files, etc. Oh yeah and enter serial at some time to, unless you added it to the winnt.sif file.
Ok, I never reach the part were your supposed to partition, its says, no harddrives are installed. What should I do?
Probably because you skipped the part where you press F6 and load drivers for the control(s) that your HDD(s) are on. No driver = no drives.
