    hey addicts...
Im running Windows Xp Media Center Edition, with SP2 and apparently DirectX 9.0c. My problem is that when I go to install the game Need For Speed Most Wanted, it says I need the latest version of DirectX 9.. which I already have. I need to uninstall and reinstall it but I don't know how to. And also another couple of problems - when i hit ctrl+alt+delete there is no task manager, and if I type regedit into the run command I get all this scramble stuff come up in a command window, then it disappears and makes reference to some huge error code that says NTVDM CPU illegal instruction or something.... any ideas?

it sounds like your operating system isnt installed properly.Mine came up with , you can close the media player but the sound keeps going.Do you have the original discs, your best bet is to do a clean install

I'll advise to make a good total reset. It's much easier to do that than to try fix OS. Cause back roll is not realized properly in Windows and seldom really helps. (It hasn't helped anyhow me yet)

P.S. Excuse my being saucy that i dared to give advise on a level with addicts....

    my respect.... :)
