i've done scandisk, scanned with my Kaspersky antivirus for software, and use BPS spyware for scanning spyware.. it found stuff i removed them, but it still does that.

Agh that happens with me sometimes too. Hate it, but can't say wat exactly the problem is. It may be because something corrupted is running in the registry. Try Norton WinDoctor and see what it might do. Good luc to ya

And thats the way you ask for help is it, try obtaining a little patience from somewhere.
People are here on their 'own free time, with free advice', if you feel you don't get the response you deserve, then contact a helpline and pay for it!!!!!

With that out of the way, back to your issue:
What specs are you running,PSU, CPU, memory, connected devices etc?
Is XP updated, inc. service packs?
Do you have many USB devices connected?
Have you alot of programs running when you startup/close down?
(msconfig, will show you startup proggies)

Try and disabling things one by one, to see if any of them are causing the hang ups.
Disconnect all external devices, see if that helps.

You're going to have to use the process of elimination, if your PC is clean of spyware/viruses etc to try and discover whether it is hardware or software related.............
