    Hey guys,

im new to this forum and i always used to come here for my probs with windows etc so i joined :)

basically, my computer used to be going fine until a virus popped up, and i have removed it with norton, but after that i realised that when i need to shut my computer off or restart etc, the turn off button is not there! Any ideas? It's really annyoing because i have to log off and then shut it off...

    Thanks in advance! :)

Are you sure the system is now clean?
Any possibility of doing a system restore to a known good point

Here's a link which shows how to turn off the restrictions.
If you did not change the policies then surely it must have been the virus.
I don't know if you noticed, but the 'turn off' may be missing from the logon screen too.

It would be advisable to create a restore point before changing the registry.

It's possible that the registry entries do not in fact exist.
In that case I am at a loss.
