I recently re-built and sold an older computer. New HD, CD burner etc. However, the old OS(98se) doesn't seem to comprehend image files. I'm thinking that I should just give em an older version of nero. What do ya think? Is there a compatibility issue here. Great to be back.

What version are you shipping now? ANd what version did you have in mind? NRG files shouldnt be anything special (i.e., they are just modified ISO files)

What processor are you using in that old computer ?

Nero has minimal requirements , dont expect to be able to handle heavy graphics demanding a lot of resources with a Pentium 120 or less then 128Mb Ram.
DVD handling is even more exhausting on your processor.

Here are the basic System requirements :-

    Microsoft® Windows 95B, NT4, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP
    ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨
Pentium III 300Mhz (Minimum), 500 MHz for DVDplayback, 800 MHz (to capturing of harddisk), 1,6 GHz (to capturing of DVDvideo)

64 MB RAM, 128 MB RAM (for video)
500 MB free disk space, 4,8 GB free disk space (for DVDimages)
at least 800x600 display with at least 16 Bit colors
    CD recorder and/or DVD recorder
Windows Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher
    Windows compatible soundcard
