Hello knowledgable people in AfterDawn land, I have been desperately trying to convert my DVD's into .AVI format, so I can store them on my portable hard drive. I did manage to convert a film in very good(8.5/10)quality, to AVI but when I played it back on my 32" HDTV the picture was in the center, leaving 1/3rd of the screen blank. The program I used was WINX DVD RIPPER PLATINUM. The settings I used were Video resolution - W:1080 x H:720 Video Quality - 1800 kps Video Frame Rate - 29.97 Format - Xvid Use High Quality Engine - I ticked this on. ------------------------------------------- I have not used the Advanced Setting section which has : CPU Core Use set at 1, Delinterlacing, Force A/V Sync, Run As Safe Mode. I left these unticked during the copying process. Thank you for reading this. Steven
Rip the DVD using DVDFab HD Decrypter http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVDFab_Decrypter Use AutoGK to convert to AVI.. Load the .IFO of the main title (usually VTS_01_0.IFO) Set a Target Quality (one pass) or specify a size (two passes). 'Add Job' (you can add jobs to do a batch conversion if you wish) and 'Start'. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AutoGK
