Hi all, i recently build a pc with windows 2000 and it works fine with minor problems (just takes a long time to boot)
apart from that everything else it fine..

But, i installed windows XP i started having A LOT of problems.
I installed service pack 2 and i installed the main software drivers like sound card and Graphics card which requires a re-boot, i thought i install them then restart it which saves me to boot several of time but after that.

I restarted my pc again to see if it boots okay. the first problem occured.. Hardware confliction i think which goes to a blue screen (which says **STOP**) then restarts itself and it just repeats the same process over again.. i had no choice but to format the pc again.

second problem is, after i installed winXP again and sorted out my first problem, its now the sound card which windows doesn't detect after 5 second of booting.
The only sound i hear is the DING sound when you try to click outside an error message and also the annoying windows theme.
Any others sound i cant hear.. i tried going into Control Panel > sound properties but it shows grey with no sound card/drivers.

I then unplugged my pc swapping my sound card to a diffferent PCI slot. Still doesn't work so i changed it back to the first pci slot.

Then when i started to boot the PC, my display doesn't work.
All i can see it organge light saying 'No Signal'

I tried other monitors but still having the same problem..

(( I think my graphics card is fried or my motherboard ))

I think Windows XP doesn't like my pc

Probleam 1 : I reccomend that you change operating systeam to Mac os or any type of linux. i have "SUSE" Which is free. You can get this version and lots of other types at" http://www.linuxiso.org/ " All of theam are free.Mac os you can get at a apple store or bestbuy.

Probleam 2: I suggest that When you're intalling Windows Xp if you try to intall it again that when it asks you if you need to install a third party driver hit F6 and istall you sound card dirver and all drivers there.

i found out the reason i was getting blue screen, it's becuase of my memory.

A friend of mine said the reason i was getting no sound after boot is becuase my pc have IRQ problem.

i was going to say, i doubt the operating system broke your pc its more likely something in your PC is broke... and it is it sounds to me like you could have problems than just the memory but youll have to wait and see about that

what i need to do now is to buy a new GFX card, probably a ATI Radeon EAX-X1900XT.

Then sort out my sound card or just use onboard sound also i try and figure out how to fix my memory
