    When I try to run either AVG virus scan or spyware software they both lock up at hwxjpn.dll file. I understand this dll is for Japanese text decoding? It says the file is in the Windows/system32 folder but I can't find it to delete it as I don't think I need it. I have view set to show hidden files/folders but still can't seem to find it. Any way to fix this problem?

    Have you tried a Start->search for this file?

    Yes,

    My system doesn't seem to find it though. I thought if I could find it and delete it, it would solve the problem but my search won't even find it.

    I am running Windows XP Pro. I can't find the folder "dllcache" in the system32 folder. I have run multiple spyware and anti virus programs and while scanning the computer locks up when it tries to scan "hwxjpn.dll". It says it's location as c:\windows\system32\dllcache however I have no such folder. ?????

    open a folder.
    go to tools
    folder options
    view
    check show hidden files and folders
    same window
    uncheck
    hide protected operating system files
    now go to
    c:\windows\system32\dllcache ===> hwxjpn.dll

    Found it thank you.

    I deleted the file. Am at work now, running the spyware at home. Will check results when I get home.

    Thanks for all the help.
