I tried to hook up a wireless network in my house and got what I thought was all the right equipment, but it turns out the wireless router is for DSL and not ADSL.

I contacted the place were I bought the damn thing but unfortunately it is outside the 'cooling off' period so it can't be exchanged, now I anm stuck with it.

Is there anyway I can use it, is there a lead that can change the connection? I don't want to waste the money I spent on it. Please help.

Thats a woopsy on your part : )

You can try and sell it on to someone else... Maybe try ebay? There is no way of changing it though....

I had thought of ebay but was too lazy to look into it, also I thought if I could use the router I might not be out the cost of a new one.

Yeah their aint much you can do, maybe if you ring the place you got it from and ask if they can refund it with a stocking fee (for example, the cost minus 20%) Some places may do that.. Of course it depends on how long ago you bought it : )
