WMP And Real Media Dithering Picture?

    I am curious if anyone knows whether WMP 8 or Real Meda Player dithers the playback of an AVI. I started wondering when I saw a few reviews saying that DIVX and XVID both can have blocky textures in the movie on walls and shadows and such but I never see this in my playback except when I first start the movie or start it after fast forwarding. If these players do dither the playback can anyone tell me of a player that does not? I'm really curious what the true film looks like.
