Anybody any ideas on this one. I have burnt three WMVHD format movies (720p), which initially play fine for about the first 5 mins on my 360 console (DVD5 4.3GB size). Then the movie stops and go back to the media blade. It does this on all WMV movies, and does so when you fast forward or skip, always at the same place in the movie. These have been tested on my PC media player and play absolutely perfect.

I have the autumn update installed, play all movies set and unrated allowed as well. Any ideas?. Thanks.

Hey, unfortunately I don't really have an answer, however, try burning them in Xvid format, I'm not sure weather you can burn Xvid in HD, that's something you'd have to find out... But I know they added support for Xvid in the Fall Update, and I know they play very well!

Failing that, I would give XBOX a ring, yes, as long and tedious it may be, and as much as you can't understand them, it is there console... And they do generally have good answer's if you wait an hour or so :p

But no, on a serious note, you may want to consider ringing them with this issue, they probably have a fix or a diagnoses which you can come back and tell us... Then we maybe able to help you out more. Because short of seeing the console for myself, it could be 101 things :)

I figured this one out, the 360 console does not support file sizes bigger than 4GB as a continuous file, so of course 4.3GB is too big and fails to play after a short while. I split the HD content in half with Easy Video Splitter and they now work fine, except over two DVD5 disks. Its no great pain as its still HD 720p quality without a HD or Bluray player, so quite a result. If you stream to the console the movie then support larger than 4GB is fine.

    get an external hard drive
use macdrive 7 to format the drive
formating as HFS+ has no file size limits, so no need to split the vids

OR... Get ORB and run it off your PC - Even better get a PS3

    AND GUESS WHAT

Better than that, scrap gaming consoles, learn a programming language, install Linux, make a Windows Hate site, Buy a server, run a Torrent site off it, and stay in hiding in the middle of a Desert burried 20 ft underground in a secret bunker where no-one can find you

Point is, it's his choice, so STFU, back off - The question's answered, and this thread is over with. Stop adding pointless comments and go away

    Much love

Hey Slave can you expand on how your burn it? I have a 8gig wmv file. I tried streaming it using orb. The picture was beautiful but it kept stuttering on my tv. It was so annoying that I turned it off. I figure maybe I should burn it to a dual layer disc. Now do I just burn the 8gig file as a data file? Or do I burn it as some type of playable movie. How would the xbox read it?

Guys I have wasted now several DL discs and DVD5 discs. I have an 8 gig WMV file. I tried burning it as a data DVD using nero and it gives me an erros(bad read error). I used video splitting software to split to two dvd5 files and tried to burn it on a DVDr and got the same error. I keep reading how people are burning thme onto DVD9 successfully but nobody wants to say how. Am I correct in assuming that I need to burn it as a data DVD for my xbox. I don't want to convert it to a video dvd because I don't want any compression. I need some real help.
