Okay I've done so much searching my brain is about to explode. Can someone help me with this one. I have a bunch of wmv files that are 100-200mb in size. I have an oppo digital player that supports divx playback. I want to be able to burn these files to a DVD and play them on that player. I've tried converting a couple wmv files to divx but they go from being 100mb to 5GB!? WTF? Is there a way to convert these files to divx and keeping them at their same size and if this is possible will they even play on my Oppo Digital DVD player. I ask that because even though the player supports DIVX I'm not sure if it'll let you select a certain file on the dvd or if it can only be one long ass divx movie. Thanks for any help
How long are the videos? I would suggest you try Xilisoft Video Converter, has always produced satisfying results for me. But you know that wmv is much higher compression than DivX, so you should expect a file size increase, not 100mb->5gb I don't know why that is happening. Make sure you are actually selecting the divx codec not just uncompressed RGB as that would produce huge files.
Thanks for the help. I had the default settings as uncompressed in the program that I was using. Once I switched it to the divx codex everything went smooth. Thanks again.
