My thread was closed for piracy. Thanx to larrylje mister 2 faced. I have no doubt in my mind that this person lives a double standard. Your telling me that all these questions about people burning movies and how to questions are ok. Not one of these people are cheating the system? Is this site condoneing Lieing? Everyone here pretty much is if they say they dont burn movies they rent or borrow from friends. I have done research and am positive this larrylje person does the same thing. Hope you feel good that you got to turn someones thread in. Feel better larrylje? I have a forum to want to kiss my ass to? Let the moderaters do there job! If i can read correctly your not one so stop living a double standard for turning in people for piracy when you know dang well you do it yourself!

Anyways I just wanted to point out that I find it completly silly. Some of the things I found on this forum and the people here are in no way saints and there is a CRAP-LOAD of illegal activity going on in this forum and behind the scenes. Please stop allowing a double standard for things and let it be.

Pains next time you ask for help about backingup your dvd's just make sure that you don't say where you got them from, that is why your thread got closed, that is just a heads up ok, also it would be a good thing to read the forum rules, that way you know what you can say or ask, there ar a lot of good people here with a lot of good input on any problems you might have with any thing in general, don't get pissed off and leave, this is a great forum, hope this helps good luck happy burning have a nice day

 

There is no "double-standard" here. When sharing information about legally sensitive topics, there are always issues about how much can be divulged. The forum rules are here to protect us from becoming a source for locations/links to illegal files, therefore diminishing the standards of the site, and making us a possible legal target. The users of this forum are lucky enough to be able to discuss these topics to this level of depth, but we've got to draw the line somewhere. Outright linking to pirated files and warez just isn't somethin allowed, and it's nobody's fault but your own that your thread got closed; you should have read the rules ahead of time.

The people here are (for the most part) courteous, helpful individuals who are here for nothing more than to help out the newbies... since we were all newbies once. No one is "out to get you", we're not in it to get you angry or into trouble: we're trying to help as best we can, but there are rules.

And please, there is a safety valve forum for a reason... talk about off-topic.

I can't say I've never pirated either but it's best kept out of our forums. Now say you wanted to back up a DVD that's fine. But we get these random bull**** posts about where to illegaly download games and such... FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF!

I myself have Halo2 and Conker Live and reloaded backed up as those disks are kinda messed up. But I've never played a pirated game on my xbox. PC is another subject though. Just don't pirate games/dvds and sell them. It's wrong and it's exactly why the RIAA and all the other associations are cracking down. It hurts us all the more.

If you HAVE to ask about how to pirate go to a less morally inclined forum at another site. Afterdawn is a help forum and not a piracy guide.

First off I would like to ask jorahan to enlighten me on what he is talking about. Report me for what? Watch yourself?

If I do make illegal copies that is "IF I DO" the diffrence between me and you Mr Pains is I don't advertise or ask questions about it. I said that Piracy is agaisnt the rules of the forum. So I try to follow the rules. Which means you should try to also.

Let's put all this in a diffrent perspective. You are speeding down the highway at 70MPH the speed limit is 55MPH and a cop pulls you over. He gives you a ticket and you try to get out of it by saying. This is bullcrap you 2 faced cop I know you speed. Will you get off the hook for speeding? More then likly not. So take the ticket and learn from your mistake and do not try to pass it on to another.

If you see a post that I have made or replied to that is agaisnt the rules then by all means report the post so I can be corrected. beliave me I have broken a rule before and I have been corrected. You learn from it you don't cry about it.

As to the linked thread above (Chisel and Hammer) I was just trying to add a little humor to the question that was asked. Guess some just don't appreciate a little humor. You can also see that I apoligized multipul times. Plus I edited out part of it that after reading it a second time seemd a bit nasty wich i didn't mean for it to be. But at least I edited out and apoligized and owned up to my mistake.

But if you would do a search on the other 2459 post that I have replied to. You would see the majority of them are very helpful to newbie’s and other members.

Just remember when posting on this sight. There is a correct way and a wrong way to ask a question. If you ask it the wrong way then expect it to be closed for Piracy. That simple learn from your mistakes. I do.

Not only did Pains say the word re-rent he also asked a question about Click that has been asked and answered 50 times already this week. Search before making a thread.
