is the all-in-wonder 2006 edition (ati) any good. i'm in need of a replacement for my ati radeon 9200 128 mb. will the ati all-in-wonder be able 2 run battlefield 2, since the radeon 9200 128 mb could not run battlefield 2 (froze).

    Hi,

It depends which model all-in-wonder it is, but I saw a 9800pro all-in-wonder and benchmarked it against a 9800pro standard and the AIW was a little slower.

Unless you want the capture features I'd go for a dedicated GFX card with a bit more grunt.

BF2 looks sweet with detail turned up :)

    Cheers.

also if anyone knows, what kind of graphics card is a good replacement for my 9200 considering i would like to keep using tv-tuner (which was part of the 9200).

    Hi,
I would go for at LEAST the 9800pro version if you want to play battlefield 2.

Your best bet to run todays games would be a newer generation card and a decent seperate TV card IMHO.

Where are you from and what budget are you working to?

    Cheers.

I had this prob on an fx5900,If you have a firewall running set it to accept BF2 outgoing files then you can play it. You could always switch it off for 5 mins to see game will play.

9800 pro minimum if you want the game to even begin looking any good, you can max it out with 4xaa and play nice and smoothly with an x800 pro as long as you have a good enough cpu and plenty of ram.

The game is pretty scalable though - i have got it working perfectly smooth on a fx5200 on my other pc but at lowest details and only 800x600, but it is playable just fine like this (512 ram and sempron 2500) and dosen't look too bad especially as the manual states it needs a min of a 5700 to run.

but like somebody else here said i wouldn't bother with an all in wonder unless you really need the extra features.

I don't think turning your firewall off will help, the 9200 is not directx 9 compatible so will not play the game at all.

The new Nvidia 7800 is bloody expensive , like pro`noob & DMW said you gonna need a 9800PRO or 6600GT minimum if you want to run BF2 and enjoy it, if you can get a 256mb version of either card

if you wait a while i think they are probably bringing some more out shortly that will be faster.

dont forget this is the first of the gf7 series.

sort of like ati bring out the x800 first which i bought and then a month or 2 later there was the x800xt then there was x850xt pe.

so i figure if i use this card for 3 - 4 more months it should be fine as pretty much every game runs maxed out as it is now and by then the full range of new ati and nvidia cards will be available so i can choose which is best.

alright first, u definitly can play bf2 with a 9200. i got a amd 3400+ (oced to about 3700), 1 gig of ram, and a sata150 300 gig drive. but i didnt feel like upgradin my gfx card (pissed all my money away on liquor and maryjane). all u got to do is get the latest drivers and then turn smartgart to 4x. easy as that. it might lag a little, depending on ur system, but u shuld be fine with the card u got. no reason to give the computer industry what they want, ur money.

Yeah it may play on one and for some that is good enough, but, it really depends what you want from a game.

Nice graphics (very nice with BF2), good gameplay or both.
The graphics aren't an option on a card like that. But if it runs then its worth playing anyway, the game is a good improvement over the first 2.

But if you want it to run and look good then unfortunately it's time for shopping.
