Hey, my computer just got a virus or spyware today and it will not allow me to visit many sites.

    - For one it wont allow me to visit anti antivirus sites e.g bit defender, trent micro so i cant do a bit defender online scan and it also wont allow me to visit the microsoft webpage so i cant get help from them
    - Second thing is that it wont allow my antivirus to update at all. I have downloaded spybot S&D and ad-aware but it wont allow them to update whatsoever. I have Eset smart security and have done a full system scan but it hasn't picked up anything?

so in other words, if i try and visit any website that has anything to do with antiviruses, it resets the connection automatically.

The sites i keep getting linked to are at http://67.192.42.5
followed by random crap depending on where its linked me to

    here's and example

Re-boot in safe mode. This will enable only the basic drivers to run your system. Run your A/V from there and see how you go.

    Cheers.

    Hi makmegs

Before we begin the cleanup process, it is important to do a little analysis first. We will analyze your computer with a tool called HijackThis.

Please download the HijackThis zip file. Save it onto a convenient place in your computer, and then unzip the file.

    Rename HijackThis(.exe) to scanner(.exe).

Next, run scanner(.exe). A window will pop up.

    • Click on the button which says Main Menu, then Do a system scan and save a logfile.
    • Please wait for the scan to be completed.
    • After the scan has completed, a text window will pop up. Please post the contents of this window here.

This will also be located at hijackthis(.txt) in the same folder that HijackThis was originally saved.

NOTE:: Do not fix anything using HijackThis, as this may also damage legitimate components of your computer.

    Best Regards :D

    @onya

This is actually precaution. Certain variants of vundo have been heard to be able to hide in HijackThis logs if the file names is HijackThis. It isn't actually proven anywhere, but it is a practice done anyway.
