If your friend has installed it on his computer and registered it. His serial number won't work on your computer. It'll install on your computer but when you try to register it, it'll give you problems.

If your computer isn't fairly new, it might not be able to work with vista. A lot of people recommend to just stay with xp.

    palak,
Stay out of Vista if you want to be safe and sound. You will definitely regret if you dont listen.. I learnt from experiences.
There arent any drivers supporting Vista right now.

    On old computer?

    Not even worth considering...
Windows Vista is a barrel of monkeys, seriously don't bother with it, stick to XP, especially if that's your only computer.

    From 2000?

I would strongly insist that you don't.
In fact I'll be surprised if Vista even installs on that thing.

If you really want to install it on your newer computer.
