Hopefully this is where this post belongs. I am trying to make a back up copy of a movie that I purchased (my kids have a tendency to scratch my originals...so now I make back up copies) My computer will read the files and save them just fine. It's when I try to make the back up copy (write them) is when it totally stops. As soon as it tries to write it gives me the following error: 5C82-0010-8011-0000-9200-6001-3549 Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 1:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero API version: 7.0.1.2 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Internal Version: 7, 0, 1, 2 Recorder: <MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-841S>Version: 1.50 - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.0.1.2 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? If it is my driver do I need to buy something external to just be able to write or does it need to read as well? If so any suggestions on a good one to get? I was looking at the LG GP08NU6B external DVD writer for $38.95 Thanks
Before getting a new drive, buy some 'Verbatim' brand disks (ones that say 'AZO' or 'Advanced AZO' on the package - DataLife Plus are good disks.
Thank you....I guess that I should have mentioned that I use Verbatim disc DVD +R, 4.7, 16x, and 120. I have not had any problems since I have upgraded to this type of disc. It just stopped writing the other day after I finished 2 discs and moved on to the third one that I was going to do. I didn't know that there were different Verbatim "types" I will try that. I guess I just figured it was the driver. Again thank you so much for your input.
Your Burner Is About Five Years Old. You're Still Running Windows XP. I'm Thinking It Might Be Time For a New Computer.
