Hey, My friend just gave me this usb for some files he needed on his new PC, when i plugged the USB into my pc it displayed it fine until i started the file copying... it disconnects it self and say is some kind of hardware error or something. SO i wanted to get rid of the files but than now is write protected i ve tried formatting but it didnt work... some help?
There should be a switch on the side of the drive. If there is not one, try this from the CMD prompt and then format: diskpart select disk 1 clean create partition primary select partition 1 active exit ...if that does not work, the flash memory is probably shot.
