I like the Xenium and the Xececuter chips. The Xenium SP I.C.E. is an idiot proof solution, but they are still all on back order, I think. If you read around, there are different benefits for all of the different chips.

If you can get a hold of a SP I.C.E., it would probably be the easiest and fastest install. What version Xbox do you have? Not sure? Hit up the forums or run over to Xbox-scene and read the tutorials.

What I suggest is to look at the actual chips and read the install guides that their manufacturers put out. You can then decide what is easiest and which features you are shooting for. If all you are going to do is upgrade the HDD and play backups and emulators, they are all about the same.

As far as the WD 80GB, it should be ok, provided it has the standard power connection. Sorry, I am not a PC guy, but it is the generic four-pin molex plug with the black, red, yellow. If you use the Xenium, its new OS has a bunch of great tools for upgrading drives and backing things up. I used my chip the other day to do a complete duplicate of a 250GB HDD, and I never had to touch my PC. super cool.

If any one else has input, I would like to hear it. I am always looking for info, as well.
