i just bought the x10 wireless audio / video sender. Hooked it all up and put it on channel 3 and set the channel to both A on the units. I saw the picture it was on the food network, so I new it had instant cable. But anyway I am having trouble CHANGING CHANNELS.

A friend was in the living room upstairs and he was changing channels on that tv but in the bedroom upstairs, it changed the channel just as he was doing to the living room tv. I typed in the code for the Toshiba model we have and nothing.

Do I have to plug in the ir extender and attach the 2 ends on the tv so the remote will “be activated” and point it at the a/v sender unit on top of the tv in the bedroom to change channels?

Sum it up - it’s changing channels on both TV’s with the same program on both. How do you separate this to watch different channels in the different rooms?

    Thanks

Hi, I have a similar problem. The Video and Audio from my settop box downstairs is beamed to my TV upstairs - no problems. However, I cannot use the Remote Control upstairs to change the channels on my settop box downstairs. I have made all the connections as recommended in their user manual. The IR from the remote is supposed to be beamed down to the receiver and then output on the tiny IR transmitters hanging off a thin wire. These IR transmitters are supposed to be placed in front of the set top box. I have setup the remote and it switches the channels on the set top box when I point it directly at the set top box. However, it does not work through the sender unit. Don't know why. Maybe false or misleading advertising. No tech support available. So I am stuck.
