do i have to flash X2 4977 on my mod chip to flash the bios on my xbox

 

No 4977 is a BIOS itself, just an old BIOS. Use 4891 or 4983 BIOS'es, they are more recent and have more support features.

 

If you want editing features to your bios go for the 4981 series. The 4983 series cant be edited. And the 4977 isnt that bad,my 4976.02 is still kicking without a problem yet.

if you don't know about boot cd's maybe try downloading an autoloader like slayers or firefuckers.
