I've installed an x3 ce into a v1 and flashed the bios. Then installed a 300gig hd. Then ran slayer 2.6. Now when I boot, I get the norm xbox screen, but with the "x3 - rox the box" under the green x, then loads to the evo dash. Now all I can do is either run from the dvdrom, change skins, or get into the sys settings. BUT, when in the settings if I try to do anything like load a game to the hd or boot up the ms dash it goes to the loading screen and just sits. ???
SO In the settings menu of evox, you have something like this: MS dash Copy games to hdd what else in here? Is this right? Then if you select MS dash, it wont load the MS dash. I you select Copy game to hdd, it is free. If all of these are correct, then you should to check to see if MS dash is installed in root of C. You should to check to see if apps are installed in F or E.
Hey TR, thanks for replying. Everything shows up on the main screen. (play game from rom, play game from hdd, trainers, movie player, so on and so on) I can play a game (org & backup) from rom, no games loaded on hdd yet. If I select "ava dash" - just sits on loading screen. I can go into sys mang. From there I can go into choose dif skins, launch apps from hd, and sys setting. If I try man hdd games w/ pxhdd, dvd2xbox backup, or ms dash it just sits on the loading screen. Or if I do go into launch apps from hd, anything I choose in there just sits on the loading screen. First off, I installed the x3 ce. I've done many ps2 mod chip installs, so this wasn't anything too new. I used this tut: http://teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=60 I dl'ed the x3 3294 bios from x-b-o-x.net and flashed via dvd-r. That went fine. Then dl'ed and added evo x dash 3935 (from same site). At this time I was able to ftp using flashfxp with no prob. I then added a 300 gig wd hd and loaded the slayer 2.6 from dvd-r using this tut: http://teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=672 After formatting with 2.6 I then went into the inst/upg section and selected "4a3" inst/upg xbmc apps on E and evox on c thinking it'd be ok and leave f totally free for games. That's when the probs started and I posted here(couldn't ftp now either). Today, I reformatted with 2.6 then chose 4a2 "inst xbmc apps on F and evox on C", but still the same probs.
Update. I reformatted yet again but didn't install anything new from 2.6. Now it boots up to the evox dash which I originally installed after flashing the bios. Ftp xbox to pc is now working again. So now I can just ftp 2.6 but what files should I put in what drives? When I open the slayer 2.6 iso with Craxtion it shows these files: evox.ini default.xbe bios.bin disk.bin linuxbio.bin Installer originally created by SlaYer.txt Update notes.txt xecuter.bin
Update. Figured out the prob. The second tut I used is actually wrong. Got manual from slayer forum and everything is working.
i have a simlar problem, that installed slayer 2.6 and xbmc (360 ver) and uploaded a load of games and couple of films. xbmc works great and can play films and stuff but when i try to play some games. some of the games i ahve only get half way to the loading screen and then stop. i dont know wats gone wrong becuase black works great but america wastedland(official dvd) and mech assult (hd) doesnt work. and loads of games are like that. can any one help???
Do you happen to have your "In Game Reset" turned off? Having that turned on is known to cause some games to not load. I don't have Am.Wast. or Mech.Ass., but do have Mech.Ass.2 on my hd and it plays fine(if that matters). Are there any other games which aren't working for you?
ill have a look and see wat that does. in the mean time have a read: this is wat i have install: slayer 2.6 -(evox) 300gb hard drive (working fine as E(5gb),F(120gb)&G(120gb) partions) dvd2xbox 7.6 xbmc (360 ver) AVAlaunch xbmc plays videos fine and ever thing abotu that is fine. right, i have a problem with playing games. i used to have the standard xbox hard inside using evox and it worked great(games load on hd or dvd). but now with my 300gb it gets to the loading screen on most games ((hd or dvd)colin,mech assult2, tony hawks(official), etc) and just sits there and doesnt do anything. the only thing is that metal slug 5 works (hd)fine. the only thing i can think of is that when the game has finished with the intro videos and stuff it trys to find the files to load the game but is looking in the wrong directory, so of course it just sits there just trying to load. is there any way to change that? ive tryed put a number of different games on different dir c, e, f, g, and they all dont work. is there a known problems that can fix. please help. ive had so many problems with this whole xbox mod thing, its driving my crazy PEACE p.s. i dont know if it may help btu i have about 20 games on the hd
nop, ive tried that and it still does the same thing. on tony hawks it just freezes about 30% through the loading thing
20 games shouldn't be a problem. I have 107 on my 300gig and still have 29gigs free. You should be putting your games in the "F: Games" folder only. How do you load your games (ftp or xbox drive)? When I did my first xbox back in Feb., I'd done alot of reading and many times I came across posts where people said not to enable the G drive when formatting. Now I don't remember why, but I just went along with what the masses said. So I'm not sure if any games can be loaded/played from the G: drive or not... but like I said... you should be loading your games onto the "F" drive into the "Games" folder.
ive disabled the use of the g drive and it still does the same thing. gets to about 30% of the laod and crashes. ive reinstalled evox and it still does the same thing. its starting to drive me mad is there anything else i could try?
Ok. You've disables the g drive. Now what about loading the games into the f:games folder?. Not just onto the f drive. They have to be in the games folder.
yeh thats where they are any anyways. im just about to copy halo 2 on to the f:/games/halo 2/ (with the g drive disabled and the auto reset off.) if that doesnt work. is there anthing else i can do?
I do have Halo 2 and Colin 05 and they both play fine from the hd. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other reason why they wouldn't load. Only reasons I can think of would be: -Installed in wrong folder -In Game Reset is enabled -Files corrupted durning ftp -Copied from bad download -Copied game from bad "back-up copy" (copy of a copy) I do remember reading in the forums here a while back about someone saying something about cleaning out the cashe folder, but that might have had something to do with softmodding. I haven't run into any problems with games playing which didn't have anything to do with something that I didn't list above.
