I have got a DVD burner and some blank dvd-r discs. So what is stopping me copying my games directly to the blank dvd?

Considering the original will have some sort of protection. Is it possible to directly copy the game to the blank via specialised game copying software?

I don't understand why you have to connect the Xbox to a PC and then FTP it?

Why can you not directly burn a backup with just a dvd writer and a PC?

You can't read xbox dvd's in a PC because of the way they are burned... they are read by the xbox outside in and a PC can't do that. The only thing the PC will see is a little movie saying that you have to put the DVD in a xbox. So you absolutly need to connect the xbox to your pc!

You have to hook up you XBOX to your PC and FTP to copy the ORIGINAL XBOX games, but if you have a copy of the XBOX game you can burn it with just a DVD burner right? You can just extract the files with ISO images and save them to your hard drive and then burn the images from your hard drive to a blank DVD-r. Would this be correct? Can someone let me know before I try this and waste another DVD-r. I am going to use RecordNow DX software which game with the Sony DRU-510 burner.
