i recently bought imation dvd-r discs along with the external sony dvd+-RW/dvd+-r writer. It is actually the sony DRX-510UL. Now I already have the mod chip, which i believe is the aladdin advance, for my XBOX. I tried to make a backup copy of nascar thunder 2004 by ea sports with the software that came with the writer (RecordNow DX). It also come with the recordnow wizard. It seemed to burn correctly, but my xbox would not read the disc. What should I have done differently? Should I use a different writer or media? Should I be formatting it differently? I have very basic knowledge about making backup copies. Someone has already given me a few backup discs that play perfect (i think it says khypermedia.com on the disc). Another thing, if i decide to buy backup copies from a website, is it too much of a risk that it won't play on my xbox?

Thanks to whoever will help me with this major problem.

OK you should really have posted this in the x-box discussion to get a quicker response.

You cant copy an xbox game from the original disc to a blank. You need to connect your xbox to your PC and transfer the files across using a programme such as FLASH FXP. You can find a tutorial out there easily enough doing a google search on how to connect properly or do a search on this forum.

Once you have transferred all the games files across you need to run these through another programme to patch the files. ISO Craxtion is my preferred method, but again you will have to find and download this programme off the net.

Once the files have been patched the programme will create an .iso file which you can then burn through Record Now Max.

My X-Box has a Samsung drive and will only read -R DVD's but there are three different xbox dvd drives out there - you can find out which one you have by looking at the tray but I cant remember the link to show the various designs.

I'm sorry I cant be more detailed on the method but there is plenty of information on this forum and out there to help you.
