Hi all, I had a problem with my modded xbox botting, I got a very restrictive menu with not many options. Got the latest Slayers disc, but still no luck, as the disc wouldn't boot. I tried a manual upgrade and now have 'error 21'. I know this is only a software problem, but my sticking point is making the xbox boot from the Slayer disc so I can do a full rebuild. Can anyone please help with tips on how to force the xbox to boot from the dvd and not the hard drive? Thanks!
Whilst the cover was off for the hotswap I researched my model info. I have a v1.6 using the Super Aladdin Live chip. The hotswap has got m$dash working again, but it still wont run the autoloader. I have burnt two copies, both on Verbatim dvd-R, one at 4x with finalising, and one at 2x without finalising. Both copies get an error in dash saying disc may be dirty or damaged. Where can I go from here?
softmod it. put the exploit files on your hard drive from the hotswap and then use splinter cell or whatever game you want to use and you can get your mod back up and running.
Thanks for your help. I have managed to get a old copy of slayers 2.6 which reads, although on the same media as my 2.7. All seems well so far. Thanks again.
Stupid I may be, but why would I need to softmod with a modchip installed? The 2.6 disc I have boots but am now on 3rd attempt at installing, this try has taken 2 hours, and still going. Not feeling v confident at all. Could I install the evox software in the same way I did m$dash on the hotswap? Meaning just copy the drive image from Xiso to drive 3 in Xplorer? So far I am deleting all files and manually recreating m$dash on the hotswap, then rebooting xbox to install from slayers disc. Cheers.
Thanks, it's onto it's third hour now. Will leave it on overnight and go to bed. (as it's 4am) Hope it is done when I get up. Thanks for your tips so far.
Well, what a waste of time. Left it on overnight, the install worked, but I am right back where I started three days ago. Evox still only gives me a few options in the menu. I can: MS Dashboard Reboot Power Off Settings Backup This was why I started the reload to begin with. Any clues as to the problem?
