You have a version 1.0 motherboard and an error 7.

You will need to get a new HDD and an eeprom reader or modchip!

No, but you can get it to work...

Read my tutorials, especially the section labeled "What's an 'EEPROM'?"

    Not a problem!

Basically, you need to acquire your eeprom, build a new HDD with XboxHDM and then lock it with the eeprom.

    ;)

Hi i read your tutorial on building an eeprom reader. I got all the parts needed but i need to kno if using a '5.1v Zener Diodes' would be ok, instead of the "5v Zener Diodes" that you posted in the tutorial.

those were the only ones that were available

hi i have a small problem. The monitor (DELL E197FP) that i am using tells me,

    "cannot display video mode
    Optimum 1280x1024 60Hz."

This shows up when i try to build the HD, i can see the cd boot up to the point 'Xbox HD Maker and recovery tool.' But when i select any option such as option 1, it displays the message above.

Can i do anything to change this or should i just get a friend's monitor to display the video mode.

Hi thanks 4 all the help, the xbox is working like new. i replaced the hd and will later soft mod it. I used a diferent monitor to build and lock the new hd. I wish u could see the eeprom reader i made, looks like a total mess but it works.

    Thanks again
Without ur tutorials all that i have done would not have been possible, ill recomend them to anyone any-Day.

Appreciate the compliments! Glad it all worked out for you!

Try that monitor trick though, it's handy when your screen is out of proportion!

    ;)
