I have used dvd decrypter, dvdfab, clonexb v2.3, alcohol 120% etc....
When i try to burn the image directly from the image file to a DVD, there appears as though there is data written to the dvd (on the back of it), but there is no data actually written to it. The only way i am able to play backed up games on my xbox, is to use qwix to ftp upload the files from the image, or extract the xiso and use ws ftp to upload it to my hard disk drive. I know the DVD's are compatible with my samsung dvd drive in my xbox, because i am able to burn movies to them, and play them via xbox media center. The next stage i tried was to extract the files from the xiso, and burn them using nero (the latest edition). when i attempt to burn the files directly, I do a UDF/ISO disc, and ensure the relax modes are turned off, and check the xbox compatible radio check box. The files will then finally appear on the DVD disc, burnt in the correct manner, but when i attempt to put it into my xbox, it says No Disc. If there is any suggestions you could give me to back up my xbox games to disk so that the originals are not damaged, i would appreciate it.
    Regards Greg

by the way i have a Samsung Writemaster flashed with the latest firmware TSCorp T06 US. IDE Drive. my computer is a gigabyte GA-K8V Ultra-939 with an AMD 3000+ processor. It contains the Silicon Image 3112 / 3512 SATA RAID Driver Controller/VIA VT8237 SATA RAID Controller, which may be conflicting with the IDE DVD-ROM drives. There is only one hard drive, and it is conntected to the Sata Controller.

That was the error message i received after trying to compile a volume as a UDF/ISO with nero, and then burn it onto a dvd (which was still unplayable by the xbox although the data existed), when i burn an xiso image, no data appears on the disk at all..

have you made any working copies? It should really not be that hard.
    what i do is this.
    1. take the game disc and put it into the Xbox drive
    2. start up Craxtion4 (or qwix if you like) and connect via FTP to the Xbox
    3. Rip the game from the Xbox to your PC from the D: folder on the Xbox (it should transfer as files in a folder, not an ISO)
    4. Use Craxtion4 to take the folder you just FTP'ed and create an ISO from it
    5. use DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO to a QUALITY DVD
read the below items for some great tutorials using various programs.

With DVD Decrypter, I had an i/o setting error with the , and ASAPI and ASPI and the rest of the DVD Decrypter's I/O settings which gave me errors, and most of them were releived after i unchecked the Disable Media Check Notification radio check box, and now running it under SPTI brings no error messages. Although it appears as though there is data written to the DVD, and DVD Decrypter successfully verifys the data, when i go into Windows Explorer and try to read it, it shows that there is no file index written to the DVD (There shows no files but under properties you can see that the disk has been written too), and when i put it into my xbox it shows as "No Disk", or sometimes just does not show the disk in the drive at all, and asks me to input a disk. With Nero, if i burn an xiso it will do the same thing, but if i compile it as a UDF/ISO into an *.nrg file, it does burns the data but is unable to write a lead out.

try deleting and reinstalling DVD Decryptyer
I use it for all my Xbox games so i know it works.
Then read the guides i posted above for more instructions.
And what type of media are you using? (like Philips 8X DVD-R)

I tried that, I have even tried to format my entire hard drive, and the only progam that i had installed was dvd decrypter... maybe its just a hardware conflict and i need a sata dvd burner because i have a sata hard drive and 2 ide dvd roms

It's the media... Why are you using TDK DVD-RW???

Get some quality DVD-R (Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek) and burn the xiso at 4x with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn.

it wasnt working with dvd-r's so i thought i should get it burning with -rw's before i waste more -r's attempting to burn it when it wont burn properly.

I thought it should burn properly with -rw's, but it wouldnt be read by the xbox?

I'd say that in most cases, DVD-RW will not work on an Xbox. Especially when it's poor quality media.

Get some top quality DVD-R and see how that goes. Using cheap media is bad for your Xbox DVD-ROM.

you guys were right, i found out the data is not ment to be able to be seen by my pc, and i bought a dvd-r and dvd decrypter worked when i installed clonedvd2 and used their i/o driver's, with dvd decrypter. I am still having a small issue when i burn DJFFNY, the team match and other features wont work, but when i ftp it using WS FTP, they seem to work... has anyone had a problem with games not functioning correctly when burnt?

yea sometimes different programs or how you get the Xiso in the first place will change some games from loading and such..but most the time they can be fixed by re-creating the Xiso or re-burning the game on different media....
