so i was browsing the threads and was having trouble finding the answer i needed so i figured i would give this a shot.... i was given an old xbox by a friend that has a bad HD (error code 07) and so i just decided i would see what i could do and try to upgrade the HD by using a spider gx mod chip. is this possible since the old hard drive is bad and i have no way of getting to the orginal files or eeprom?
i had the exact problem, what you need to do, chip the xbox, btw the spider is one of the crappiest and hardest to get working chips, on the market, anyway then you need a new HDD and you need to dowload auto installer deluxe 3.0.
yeah well the chip was given to me... i looked it up and did some research and people say that its fairly decent for the price (but you cant beat free). anyways yeah i just got a western digital 120gb HD and try it with that... you said auto installer 3.0 whats that like compared to slayers boot disk? cause i planned on using slayers to lock the drive and what not till you said something about the auto installer
yea get aid 3.0 from a torrent site nd burn it to a disc and pop it in the box nd u should be good thats it pretty much
