XBOX in coma console state, no video/audio but flashing light

    Hi There,

    My xbox appears to be in a coma console state where only the green light will flash and the drive won't eject and no audio/video appears. I'm not sure whether to buy a mod chip or what. My DVD drive is pretty dodgy as well with read errors whatnot (happened before this) and today when i opened it up and plugged it in it made weird electrical zap noises when the power was put in and it began to output random disgusting smells. Is it worth evening trying to fix this hunk of junk?

    thats what just happened to mine i woke up and it wont work i have a x2 chip and a 80 gig i just didnt smell smoke tho can someone help us plz

    This stinks. I need someone to reply because all information on the net is a bit cruddy. I can't work out whether a mod-chip would fix it. I ain't chipping out the money if one isn't going to work and I don't believe in the old "30 day money back guarantee but you can keep the steak knifes" offer.
