hey i've noticed this for the last few months... every now and then when i turn my xbox on it starts making a clicking noise...then the black screen with xbox logo shows up... (note: the MICROSOFT logo isn't there) then after a little while a screen shows up with an 07 in the corner and a bunch of different languages and they say your xbox requires service? but after a day or so it goes back to normal... can any one explain this??
Hi, did your Xbox get a knock or fall recently? Anyways, this is what error7 means. Xbox ErrCode: 7 - kernel - HDD timeout - SOLUTION: The cables to the harddrive aren't plugged in or are loose. Check the power and IDE cable and you should be fine. So, pop the case and check your IDE cables. If it still happens, your hdd is most likely failing. If that is the case I suggest you get a modchip asap and unlock that hdd and install a bigger one. Regards C|F
lol, yup, the wide grey cable at the back of the hdd, goes from there, to your dvd rom, and from the dvd rom, to the Xbox mobo, check all three connections and make sure they are pushed home tightly Regards C|F
did you listen to him and check the POWER cables too? give each of them a shove to make sure they are in too.
