My little one were playing battle front and choose xbox live and a file loaded. Now when i turn on my xbox it boots to MS dash. My back ups work but i don't have a slayers dash. I can't FTP either cuz no slayer dash. I loaded a slayers 2.6 disk and turned it on and i got the slayers screen. i don't see an IP its blank, i reloaded slayer 2.6 to c drive it took a while to copy everything but there was no save or anything but when it was done i took the dvd out , rebooted and it came up MS dashboard.
Slayers is the disc, not the dash! That's EvoX... Set the FTP settings manually from the Slayers disc, erase the entire contents of C:\ and replace with fresh, clean dash files (There's a link in my softmod tutorial for download). That will give you a new MSDash, then just run the Slayers install, but ensure that you are choosing C:\ for the dash! I'm assuming that you have a modchip...
Every option i pick in the slayers disk does nothing, I mean files are copied but that does not change Microsoft words on the bottom. evox only on retail, evox on f, I even did the large HD option. Nothing seems to change it for me, Than after 4 hours of this,,,I tried the FTP and i don't completely understand as the guy whom set it up for me already had the ip in flash FXP set for me. I do remember he said the ip on one of the units ,(pc,Xbox) had to be one digit higher. i tried both, here's what i did. with the slayer disc running it said nothing after ip. so i went down to where i can put my own in, what one to choose i couldn't figure that out. i choose 169.254.234.95 because that was one of many in my flash fxp xbox folder under site management . so i put my pc one higher 169.254.234.96 this and other ip's i have tried did not work. I do not connect to a router and i am certain my network works because after i turn my box on it recognises it, along with it worked before my kids messed it up with live. Xbox was nnever connect to the internet but some sort of files load not allowing to be boot to evox. Back ups work but i can't get to the ones on my hard drive and i can't ftp. i didn't know how to erase c drive like you said also i am afriad because if something goes wrong how am i going to boot? i know this must be a pain but if you were in my shoes trying,,,, i appreciate it.
Yeah, if you have a modchip you should be able to manage all this. This is a pretty common problem, from what I have seen in these forums.
Boy i got like another 4 hours in it, i found chunkhead networking tut and it's great, I followed it to the letter and i still can't ftp in it from the slayer screen, I think its because i need the dvd in the drive or i can't see the slyer screen, the only way i see it is if i put the disc in labled 2.6.
