xbox live not working

ui hve a softmodded xbox but whenever i tried getting on live it didnt work. i turned my xbox on with the game inside but all it said was start trouble shooter withought even attemting to connect. wtf do i need to do change my ip or dns or submask??????????????????/

 

first do you have xbox live lol
second i don't kno much about softmodding but wouldn't it still work the same as a mod chip once you install that you can't get on to xbox live but see what some other people say first

so whats it doing it won't connect
just see if these things are right ok
are you useing the right cable
have you used xbox live b4 and make sure the lights are on in the ethernet plug in the back of the xbox if all thats workin i'll find some one to help ya

Uninstall your soft mod by putting your ms dash back on, go to network settings->ip address and set as automatic.
the soft mod automaticly changes the ip to 192.168.0.2 or somthing similar.
If you can still get on line with the soft mod on it usually says error modded xbox error
witch obviously wont let you sign on.
when you need to ad a new modded map or something just reinstall the softmod dash, and when your done transfering files just put the ms dash back on again, and repeat when needed.

 

meh.. yeah.. you can't really make an 'off' switch unless you want to do some inside xbox hardware. I know; I've tried.

ok if u have sid3 then just run splinter cell or game used to install run linux and, u should have made a ms backup, select restore ms backup and install on c: its that simple.
If you didnt make an ms backup your screwed!
Oh by the way i do know what im doing, ima pro!

it saysm if ur xbox is connected directly to ur modem verify the dns servers settings match the settings provided by ur isp.

now if u cld plz explain to me wht tht means in ennglish or tell me wht i need to do to fix this, i would be very grateful.

if you succesfuly restored your ms backup just follow these insructions if it still doesnt work explain exactly whats going on
insructions:
go to
settings on the the ms dash-->network settings-->ip settings-->set to automatic-->make shure that all the settings are set to automatic.


((some isp's(internet service provider) require certain settings in wtch case you must call the help line, either 1-800-4-myxbox or the help line for your isp))

 

Oh and xbl is currently univalible for 28 hours that might contribute to your problems.

ok this is exactly whts happinin.

1. im on an msdash

2. i went under network settings.

3. everything is set to auto.

4. i hve no advanced or ppoe settings set

5. it still said the dnsserver cannot be reached.

6.but maybe its just because xbl is down

 

ok and i know im probably getting really annoying right now but i was just wonderin if u knew if the reskinned maps wld get u perminatly banned frm xbl.
