I just installed an xecuter 2.2 pro chip and I tested it to make sure it works fine. I turned the chip on and it boots up ok and then I turned it off and the xbox loads up ok. Now when I installed a new Hard drive, a 120 GB drive to replace the old one, the xbox works fine with the chip turned on, but when turned off it wont boot up anymore and then a screen comes up with it sayin i need to call microsoft in like 6 languages and I noticed a number 13 on the top left corner. I transfered all the files C & E to my computer before I changed the drive. Intalled the new hard drive with evox. I then uploaded all the folders (C&E) to the new drive with all the other files needed (like changing the file names). I went to xbox-scene.com for help with the installation process so I knew what to do. So i'm sure it had something to do with me copying the files but not sure which files I need or missed. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks.
Wow, just going to say Very good job. I like to see u went to xbox-scene.com and u did a great job modding your xbox. I wish must ppl went to xbox-scene before coming here. The only thing you missed is that u forgot to lock your HDD. The orginal xbox HDD comes lock. That means only your xbox motherboard can unlock that HDD to access the files. With your chip on that makes the xbox MB over look the unlocking thiny so u don't need to have a locked HDD. Thats why u can boot with your chip on and not off. When off your bootingg with the onboard bios so the xbox sees that your 120 gb HDD is not lock. So it knows that, thats not your orginal HDD. SO now what you are going to have to lock your HDD. You need a program called ConfigMagic. It will lock your HDD for you. I havn't lock my HDD yet so someone else has to tell you how to do it but thats what u need to do. I hope i made u understand.
There is and option in the new Evox Dash 3921 that will allow you to lock and unlock the hard drive. You need to: Open the evox.ini Find the line that says "Lock Hard Drive" Remove the # from out front Save Upload to xbox Then reboot xbox click "Lock Hard drive" Good Luck!
I was able to lock my hard drive but i still can't get it to load properly when i have the chip turned off. I still get that screen with the different languages and a number 13 on the top left. When I acess my M$ dashboard with evox, I get the the normal green color setting screen you get when you turn on the xbox with no cd and the chip turned off.
