Hey guys, I just want to say thanks in advance for all the help I'm going to get! Well, I'm a noob at modding and would never touch my precious xbox with a soldiring iron, so my question is what companies and websites would you recomend me to send my XBOX to? I would rather a pro mod my XBOX, just wondering if any of you have had good experiences or any recomendations? Thanks._X_X_X_X_X_[small]Mod Master[/small]

I suggest getting a matrix mod chip you can find one at easybuy2000.com there is nothing to solder. It takes about 5 minutes to install and trust me anyone can do it.

    i agree with bottz..
the matrix is the way to go..

i've done a few and they seem to be the best non-solder mods..

Why would you go with the Matrix over the Xecuter2 Pro/Lite. What advantages does the Matrix have over the X2P. I have no problem soldering the system. So that is no matter to me. I was wondering which boots backed up games better. Thanks!

I have the Matrix installed and I have ran across a few backup problems but after playing with a few different tools I have successfully backed up every game I own. They all work consistantly. The only reason I suggested the Matrix is because it is solderless. The X2P may be a little bit more difficult to install. If you have good solder skills then by all means the X2P is the way to go. I just feel for people who are new to mods should stick with something solderless, you don't want to accidentally bridge a solder connection and break your system.

Which would be better to get, the X-ecuter 2, or the X-ecuter 2 Pro. There's only like a 5 dollar difference. THanks for your help!

I just sent mine to system-mods.com. They have a really nice site, and I've talked to them on the phone.

Great service! The guy that I talked to definitely sounded like he knew what he was doing. I hope he does a nice job!

Over priced? I don't think so. I think you get what you pay for. I know mine was done by a pro. I opened it checked the wiring and it's the best I have seen yet. Very neat and all points where incredibley clean. My friend's PS2 was thrown together and half the wires fell off in the first few months ( I had to fix it ;) ). My xbox is perfect and I still get free upgrades without having to go through mIRC and all that. It's really a good service, But maybe not for everyone.

I had a few freinds (4 to be exact) who went to a few others and got TOTALLY ripped off. Service was slow and the wiring was very poorly done. Not saying any names, but they appear on the boards quite a bit. I would rather pay a few extra and have it done right with good parts, and quality service then some shady people who do a piss poor job.

This is a dodgy question. I have had a modded xbox v1.0 with a matrix for half a year and it has worked well. There is problem that I have had and read others have had. It is possible if one of the contact gets caught for your matrix to wipe your onboard TSOP causing your xbox not to boot without the chip on. This means no xbox live and for us with a year subscription is very bad. Also unless you do a small modification to your chip you gave to open it every time to turn your chip on or off if you are using XBL. On the other hand I have just got a 1.2 LE box and X2 Pro and have found this to be very difficult to get working. Other have had better experience but what with lack of instructions for the 1.2 it was difficult, not to mention countell errors with the programming.

My Verdict Matrix : Easy but less advanced
    X2 : Complicated but better

also noobs get a lite version as it is far easier
