I modded my V1.0 xbox with an Xecutor 2.1 Lite, and flashed it with the Xecuter2_4976.02_MultiVer_256k bios. It loads up and says "Executor 2" or somthin like that, but I cant get it to play CD-R music. I also want to install a bunch of emulators and the media player, but I dont think any of that is going to happen till I get help with this problem THX for any help guys. This board has been a godsend for both my PS2 and Xbox modding. Now I just cant wait for GCN . Any ideas on how to solve my very annoying problem????
Hey bro, since you've got a v 1.0 im guessing you probably have the Thompson DVD-Drive. If so it won't read CD-Rs try it with CD-RWs mine likes Sonys and Maxells. Burning them at the slowest speed helps too. Hope this helps.
Oh, I know about the thompson drives, but Ive got a v1.0 with a philips drive. R u saying that it shouldnt have a problem reading DVD-r's?
My xbox is a ver 1.1 so it might have different hardware so my response may not be relevant. I can use CD-Rs fine burning at 1x. If you want to play music and use emulators, you need to get the add-ins for it and configure your dashboard to know its there. Once you get the add-ins and place them on your harddrive, note the exact path of the default.xbe of each add-in. You need to put this path in the ini file of your dashboard so it knows where to go when it wants to launch the particular program. For example, on my e drive, I have a folder called apps with two sub folders - DVDX and SNES. In the DVDX folder I have the DVD-no region add-in, and in the SNES folder I have the SNES emulator add-in. I then modified my evox ini file to point to each and modified the menu so that I had selections to use both (evox by default already has the DVD-no region menu listed, but I created a SNES emulator option). Hope this helps. Note: If you want to play music, you need to get the media player add-in.
have you tried using GDFIMAGE to build your iso's??? you can find it in kazaa lite or emule. go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/iso-backup-guide.php then go down to "Section 4. Burning to CDR: Misconceptions Dispelled!" hopes that helps
THX guys... I dont have time to test this stuff out right now, But I will soon. Anything else there is to know?
The Thomson drive will not read CDR. Some Philips drives will read a lot of CDR. And all Samsung drives will read most CDR. Use decent quality CDR's burn at no more than 24X.
