I am a new at modding xbox. I turned by xbox into a door stop. Needless to say I am not trying that again. Can anyone recommend any good, cheap and honest xbox modding service. I want to install a chip and hard drive. Thanx

Most Xbox's can be repaired after a bad install attempt. What chip did you try to install? Solder or no solder chip? What does it do when you power it on?
I would first check to see if it's repairable. It'll be cheaper than buying another Xbox.

I used a solder chip. I guess I got some of the solder over the other connections and short curcuited something. Everytime I put in a disk I light flashes for a second then completely stops. Well, I bought another one already and ready to get it modded by someelse

Look for a NO-SOLDER chip. There are
    plenty out there.

    Don't forget to use a solder-sucker. I
toasted a couple of PS2's with my bad
solder skills, hehe. I've since given up on
    soldering the PS2._X_X_X_X_X_[small]NO MA'AM[/small]
