    alright a while ago i tried to softmod my xbox and like a dumbass i accidentally deleted my ms dash. so i put a mod chip in and it works fine and everything. after that i put in a bigger HDD. but since i deleted my original dash and bios, i cant go on the internet. i just thought recently a way to fix this, but i need help and someone to tell me if it will work.

    i also have a nonmodded xbox thhat works fine and can connect to the internet. i was thinking that if i loaded the AR linux profile on splinter cell that i might be able to ftp everything from it to my computer. then i could put my old HDD back into my modded xbox and ftp everything from the nonmodded to it. that way it would be just like a regular stock HDD. then i could boot up with that HDD and since i can load different BIOS with my mod chip i could load my regular original bios. then i could go on the internet.

    please tell me if ths will work or a way to make it work. thanks.

    k i put everything from the nonmodded onto my pc. then i put an old stock hdd in my modded xbox and tried FTPing everything into it. the only problem is that the hdd from the nonmodded had CDEFGIXYZ drives, but this old stock hdd only has CDEXYZ and it wont let me create new FGI. how do i get these FGI into it when it wont let me create them?

    You only need to update your C to get your dash back and working. Your stock XBOX won't have the extra drives. If you copy the E drive across you will loose any save games you had on your modded XBOX.

    Just a quick note, you could have saved youself the price of a mod-chip by hotswapping your XBOX hdd to your PC and using XBHDM. Just for anyone else who gets in to the same problem when softmodding.

    C = MS Dash and Live Dash
    D = DVD Drive
    E = Game saves and music

    X,Z & Y = Temporary drive storage space for quick loading.

    ya i know i was a noob and didnt know. ya you said that the stock doesnt have any extra drives but the CDEFGIXYZ all that came from a stock nonmodded xbox. it all came from an xbox that has nothing modded and goes on live and everything. so whats the deal with that?

    Well you should use the slayers evox auto installer2.6. It installs evox and even M$ Dash 5960. So no need to doo all those complicated things ;)

    You could just format it back to an original. That's as long as it's in the modded xbox! Slayers or AID will do this for you!

    If you're really concerned, the best idea is to have two drives!

    You have one larger drive that you use 95% of the time and the other "original" drive that you insert back into the Xbox to play Live! COvers all bases! As long as they are all setup correctly they should be Plug'n'Play!!!

    i know, thats how it is already set up. i have two drives in and i even made a switch that lets me power on which drive i want. im just afraid that i might get banned even with nothing modded because i have a mod chip. the modchip doesnt turn off, it just lets you boot up with different banks

    Well, "Power on" your xbox with the "Eject" button to "Power on" your xbox with the "Mod-chip" "Off".
