XBOX REQUIRES SERVICE contact cust support

    i Bought an xbox off ebay and it reads this message there is no number at the top left corner (hopefully i didnt get screwed)
    can some one help?? oh yeah and the led flashes red and green

    Did it work at all when you first received it, or has it not worked at all? If you've gotten it to work at least once, you may have a chance at soft modding it and completely getting rid of the problem.

    Sorry to say, but it sounds like you got screwed. There's a couple more threads around here with people that have a similar problem, I don't remember if they ever resolved it though.

    is the or was the box ever opened? if so, check to see if there is a mod chip in it, if so, check the wiring, bad solder or broken wire, if you have access to another xbox with chip in it, take hard drive and insert it in other xbox, see if it has all files on it, just a couple of things you can try for now!

    thanx i do have a modded xbox but not sure what chip looks like and all i have to do is swap hard drives

    when you open up the xbox and take the disc player out, you will see it, it will be under it...

    then no, no modchip will it be attched to mother board

    It might be worth installing a cheap mod chip to see if you can get it to boot properly using homebrew.

    Just install a cheap mod chip, burn an autoinstaller to a DVD-R, and see if you can get it up and running that way. Oh, and many mod chips require that you flash them before they'll play homebrew, so keep that in mind as well.
