Bought an xbox off a mate a few weeks back he's had it for year or so. Everything ok until yesterday.... Everytime I start to play a game the screen goes all messed up, yet when i pause the game or go to the xbox menu the screen is perfect. Likewise as the xbox boots up then the game comes on on i notice lines going through into seqence then when some games I have start its visably unplayable but the xbox sub menus are fine???? I dont know if the warranty is still valid after a year, any advice would be welcome.
Make sure the xbox is set to sdtv, not hdtv. Hdtv will look really messed up on sd set. Go into the msdash and change your settings, it should be straight forward. Let me know how it goes.
Another issue which does suck. If the xbox was connected by a hd tv cable and the 1080i settings where engaged. But if you got the regular cable with it and it is still engaged in 1080i it will cause huge distortions.
thax for the replys, gave the support line a ring and turns out there is a 3 yeat extended warranty for this problem so they are sending me out a new xbox happy days!
