Hello, A few weeks ago we started getting dirty disk errors on our XBox which is about 3 yrs old. I opened it up an removed the DVD and hard drive. Opened the DVD and cleaned it out. After putting it back together and starting it, I got Error 7. Guessing that I hadn't pushed the connectors in far enough, I unplugged and reinserted them. Error code changed to 13. Tried again and error code disappeared but if I start the system with not game, it takes about 7 minutes to come to the console menu (if at all). Insert a game and it takes about 7 minutes to start (if at all). Once started, games seem to play fine. Is there any hope or should I just trash it? If I have to trash it, is my only replacement choice the 360 if I want to be able to use all the games I have? Thanks for looking!
I have an Xbox that is similar at the moment! But mine just has trouble starting the discs. I'm going to try a new IDE cable for a start!
