I am about to go out and buy a Halo 2 XBOX from Gamestop to replace my existing 550Mhz Media Center PC. I just wanted to know how to softmod it so that I could use it as a PC. Could someone include a link to the files I need too? PM Me if needed, thanks.

    Use it as a PC???

If you want it to be a media centre, use XBMC!

There is nothing available on the planet that can touch it!

Can you provide me with a link where I can download XBMC and a tutorial to install it. Also, can this play games ripped onto a hard drive or backed up games?

Ok, i softmodded but it wouldn't load the MS dashboard, only the XBMC. How do i make it so that it will load XBMC as default and allow me to switch to the degfault when I want? Which drive should I save the things that I ftp to it? is the C drive ok?

    Yes, you can run backups.

Everything should be saved in E:\. Your music, emulators, games should be in this partition if you have an upgraded hard drive your xbox games should be in F:\. You need to download "Auto Installer Deluxe 4.10" from a torrent. This iso will also make XBMC your default dash, its worry free, it contains everything you need emulators, dashboards ect. If you do it manually and don't know what you are doing you can temporarly disable your xbox, so its better that you downloaded the AID iso.

Why would you want to switch to another dash? XBMC is the best dashbosrd! If you want to access other dashboards you should load as applications.
