I have had a xecuter 2.6ce for a while now with an xbox v1.1. And occasionally the xbox with refuse to boot. It will turn on and off 3 times in a sequence then flash red. It helps most of the time to hit it on the side while in the second boot and then it will load up. I'm not quite sure what the cause is? Can someone help me with this? edit--- when i shut the mod chip off the problem goes away and starts the standard dashboard. but when i switch it back on it errors again.
hi mate there will be a dry solder joint some where on the chip, i suggest a re-solder is in order, that will sort the problem out, there nothing wrong with your xbox. cheers kev
Well just double check your solders, pin header. if you have solderless, then check the adapter. Something is loose.
check for bad solder spots or bridges. if this isnt the problem maybe the bios on the chip is messed up, get a programmer and reprogram the chip. -Marko, 13
this happened to me on my softmodded xbox, and on my harmodded xbox, after just figgiting with it it seems to works after a while. If its a bad solder, you need to check how to re-solder it to the D0 point, go to you modchips website that you have, and they should have a tut no which D0 point to solder to
I am using a solderless Xapter adapter for my xecuter 2.3. I just last night took everything out wiped off the system board and checked for damaged parts. I also rewrote the chip with the cromwell bios to cover all my bases and verified it. It didn't change anything. I then used a different Xapter and still nothing. I really quite am quite confused by the cause of this. It seems i've covered every base. I'd like some thoughts on the issue.
if it turns off and on that means you didnt flash the bios right. @xXbmodsXx cheap isnt always good, i got my solderless xecuter3 ce for $78 including shipping and it was well worth it just what ever you do dont get a spider chip they suck and are not user friendly
@ cereal dude um well do i have to get a bigger hdd for the xecuter? will it allow me to back up games and play them instantly?
wow nice sig lol, no you dont need a bigger hdd unless you want to save games. when you get the chip you have to flash the bios then you can play burned games
what you would have to do is plug the chip in then a flash bios screen of some kind will come up then you flash it and you would be set to go
