I'm trying to build a USB cable for my Xbox (so that I have one female USB port) that I can plug in to my controller port. I already have a USB extension cable, and the end of an Xbox controller cable. My trouble is splicing them together. The USB cable has Red, Green, Blue, and Black individual wires on the inside of it. (As is normal) Maybe it is because I used a crappy Intec controller, but the Xbox half, has Green, Red, Brown, and Blue wires (in addition to Yellow, but that is a useless Xbox specific part). I'm trying to figure out what connects to where. What I have come up with so far is as follows: (-------------------------------------- is a wire connection) Xbox-----------------------------------USB Yellow--------------------------------Nothing Green---------------------------------Green Red------------------------------------Red Blue-----------------------------------Black (I guessed) White---------------------------------Brown (I guessed) If anybody knows which wire in the USB cable connects with which wire in the Xbox cable, please help. Anybody with experience in this please respond. P.S. I already tried to follow the tutorial at www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Xbox_Linux_USB_HOWTO. Thanks in advance!
did you download driver for it? If you follow the tutor, you built it right. Just need a driver. So xbox controller will work on PC.
I may have worded it wrong, but what I'm trying to do is make one of these (http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=83&products_id=2154&PHPSESSID=30c90a07e7fee837f004a99f081b743f) but I actually figured it out now, I just need to get my USB drive to work, is there a way to format to FATX from my computer? That would be extremely helpful. Thanks.
Oh. That kind of is very annoying. (Me have good grammar.) I'm not about to install a whole new operating system. I wouldn't mind Linux, it's jsut that this is my parents computer and they might not be incredibly happy with that. Of course, they would barely notice, but I'm just gonna stick with Windows. I'll just bring the cable to my friends with older Xboxes. (You can't format with 1.6)
