In Xp installation, it does the following:

    AMIBIOS(C)2003 American Megatrends, Inc.
ASUS 'K8N' ACPI BIOS Revision 1004
    CPU : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+

    DDR Frequency = 400 MHz

    Entering SETUP ...
    Press <F8> for BBS POPUP
    Checking NVRAM..
    Initializing USB Controllers .. Done.
    512MB OK

    Auto-Detecting Pri Master..IDE Hard Disk
    Auto-Detecting Sec Slave...ATAPI CD-ROM
Pri Master: bla bla info about pri master
Sec Slave: bla bla info about sec slave
Auto-Detecting USB Mass Storage Devices ..
00 USB mass storage devices found and configured.

    Chassis intruded !
    Fatal Error... System Halted.

-- The BIOS beeps one short, which stands for DRAM refresh failure.
"Explanation: The system is having a problem accessing the system memory to refresh it. Refreshing is done on all system memory to keep its contents active.

Diagnosis: This code usually means a problem either with the system memory or with the motherboard itself."

--- So, how to fix such problem? Thanks in advance.

in the bios enable the system defaults to see if that corrects the problem. can also remove the ram sticks & use a pencil eraser on the gold contacts on the ram to see if it corrects the problem.

CMOS cleared and I can change the settings to default and it corrects the problem, yet when I restard the computer, after Auto-Detecting the usb mass storage devices and others, it just goes to BIOS, and I haven't even touched the delete button. So no chassis errors now, but it always goes to BIOS when I startup the computer. There is an XP cd in the cd-rom, but why doesn't it continue the installation?
