xp reinstall

    hi
    i have a packard bell laptop 3yrs old running xp, my question is can i use a d*ll reinstallation cd that i got before christmas on this as i've lost the orignal recovery cd

    OEM installation CDs are vendor specific. Plus...if it's a recovery CD..it already has the drivers on it for the machine it's intended for. Most recovery CDs are images of the first install and just put the hard drive back to that state.
