OS is xp professional sp3 Im using the system graphics driver, due to a vid card meltdown in my the system I'm using now. I need to install drivers for a card I replaced it with, (old card from an old machine) In device manager, there are two entries with question marks under "Other devices" 1. "Video controller" Right-click, Properties, details tab Select "Hardware IDs" and... "Video controller (VGA Compatible)" Right-click, Properties, details tab Hardware IDs- PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B62&SUBSYS_06021002&REV_00 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B62&SUBSYS_06021002 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B62&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5B62&CC_0300 Searched ven and dev at www.pcidatabase.com and came up with several leads that didn't amount to anything useful. So... Opened case and got the only information that could be useful, the p/n, s/n, and cn; p/n 102a3343701 s/n 230610009715 cn-0uc946-13740-637-01za I googled them in several ways, both the vendor and device stats, with many results, but nothing worked. Sites that claim to provide drivers, detectors, etc. didn't work either. I have very few resources beyond search engines and attempts to use the right keywords. I've been with afterdawn for a while and want to thank you for being a site that can be trusted. I hope someone can help because I have a DVI-I port as well as s-video and vga on this card but am stuck in 800x600 32bit true color. Oh yeah, I tried Windows update and it didn't see it either. printed on the motherboard usually in white is the make, model# & rev level of the board. that is usually found around the pci express slot or between the ram slot & cpu. I presume the case is a clone & not a namebrand like dell or hp?

I pieced the system together. All the parts were acquired individually and serperately. The parts mostly coordinate according to quality, standards and requirements. The motherboard is: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. EP43-UD3L cpu is genuine intel dual core 4g (socket 775) 4g ram ddr2 vid slot is pci express 2.0 x16 -Zyw
Unless i'm nuts your wanting drivers for a add in graphics card yes? the numerals you list point toward ATi graphics card,simple copy paste into google shows this.So whats the story ? VEN_1002&DEV_5B72&SUBSYS_06031002&REV_00

Are you saying I should remove the ms system driver that is working (as well as it can) and run the update site? Should I power down first or go to update right after? I'm afraid that since it doesn't update it now, and I wouldn't have any drivers at all, I'd be left with no graphics.
The card was from a Dell Dimension 9150 that was most likely part of the stock build. I have the numbers from that motherboard p/n 316736100010 ro1 a00 cn-0fj030-70821-61r--e0io rev a00 Thanks DDP you were right they were where you said they'd be. I'll check the Dell site first. -Zyw

sheesh.. just boot a live linux distro.. and then in a terminal type "lspci -v -v" .. and look for the graphics hardware details.. then google up a suitable driver.. 5 minute job.. unless it's a Dell GX series sound driver.. which usually needs the damn Packard-Bell obscure one
