XP SP2 can access more drive space then you could ever put in your home computer. According to Wikipedia: Maximum file size: 2TB Maximum number of files: 4.2 Billion Maximum volume size: 256TB If you're having issues... you're going to first need to do a fresh installation with SP2 integrated.., the last BIOS update for your motherboard. If your system isn't recognizing the maximum amount of space, it isn't an OS issue... it's a motherboard, or BIOS configuration issue.
Even with SP2 Windows XP with often partition any drive over a certain size into two partitions. But personally i think that is a good thing. You can keep all your vital windows things on the C: and then keep all your other saved stuff on D: Right now my XP has a 320GB External two 300GB internals and a 250GB internal and all working fine. and soon to replace my other HDD that went bad with another 300-500GB gotta have that HDD space
