xvid ac3 to dvd

    tmpgenc plus will not convert ac3 audio. is there a codec or filter or plugin i can get somewhere that will allow me to do this?

    You need to install an AC3 ACM decoder such as the one by fccHandler.

    You don't need to convert it, all you need to do is extract (demux) it.
    Try virtualdubmod, demux.
    Encode only the demuxed video stream, join with the demuxed AC3 audio during authoring.

    any help on how to demux.. i cant figure it out in virtualdubmod.

    Click Streams, Stream list, then select the part you want to demux, and hit the demux button.
    This will extract the audio.
    Then go to Video, direct stream copy.
    Then go to Streams, stream list, select the audio, and click Disable.
    Click file, save avi.
    You will now have an avi video with no audio, and a separate audio track.
