I get very good quality currently in my conversions from .vob to XviD.avi. by using the defaults from my conversion software [avs video converter 4.3.9]. How do you know what to change your bitrate to when using the bitrate calc for hours and minutes of your video? How do you know what is the best option for you for bitrate? Thanks to all in advance!
If you are aiming for a certain size (700MB's, 1/3 DVD, etc.) then since the movie runtime is fixed you have no choice when it comes to bitrate. What is more important is what resolution for that bitrate and that depends on the source.
Thank you C_D for your reply. I don't change anything. I am using a program called AVS video converter, it's the only program I've found so far which will not only convert but join the vob's as well during the conversion to make up one total converted movie. I leave the res @ "Original". It does have a drop down for adjusting the res to different NTSC and PAL res schemes. However, I want to get the best "Bang" for my buck with this sw. I've tried I guess somewhere in the vicinity of about 10 different software titles and nothing comes close as far as ease of use. I've tried to add screen shots to my replies but haven't fig'd it out. If you let me know, I can show you what I'm talking about, or shoot you a PM. I won't do the PM unless you're down with that. Thanks man
